This study was carried out by the Araújo Ibarra team in partnership with the British-Colombian Chamber of Commerce. This work was carried out as a team for more than six months in which the competitive advantages that Colombia offers as a business and export platform for the United Kingdom in America were explored in depth.
Among the most significant findings, we discovered more than fifty products in which Colombia is more competitive than the UK in terms of tariff costs and market dynamics, and consequently, based on this information, British companies could establish themselves in the country and contribute to the regional market.
With regards to Araújo Ibarra, the team consists of the following members:
– Martin Gustavo Ibarra Pardo (CEO of Araújo Ibarra)
– Patricia Mendoza de Galofre (Partner – Director of Innovation and Internationalisation Strategies)
– Olga Lucia Salamanca (Partner – Director of Trade Policy and Defence)
– Lucia Fillippo (Senior Consultant)
– Manuela Parra (Junior Consultant).
Regarding the British-Colombian Chamber, the team is composed of the following members:
– Jaime González Moore (Chairman of the Board of Directors)
– Santiago Uribe (Executive Director)
– Martha Ramírez (Vice-Chairman of the Board)
– Roger Sanchez (Deputy Director of Affiliates)
We hope that this study will be of transformative value in attracting UK companies to Colombia. We also hope that it serves as an impetus for the further discussion of the debate surrounding public policy on international trade, investment, promotion and attraction.
